The Architects of the Pepper Kingdom
A legacy of flavor. Michelin-inspired craftsmanship. Pure Texas terroir.
While the Pepper Kingdom is famously ruled by four squabbling monarchs, the actual magic happens right here in Texas. Hot Sauce Kings is the brainchild of a unique partnership that blends generations of culinary heritage with elite culinary science.
Richard Leon, Founder Culinary excellence and dedicated service run deep in Richardโs bloodline. His grandfather served as a chef for the President of Honduras, and his father served as a Mess Sergeant in the US Army. Richard carried on that legacy of service as a United States Marine Corps Veteran and Lead Field Service Representative in combat zones across Afghanistan and Iraq.
Despite his high-pressure career, his childhood love for growing ingredients and cooking for large gatherings never faded. In 2021, Richard began experimenting with hot sauce recipes for his friends, obsessively researching and refining his craft. After an overwhelming response and a completely sold-out run at a local festival in December 2024, he officially founded Hot Sauce Kings in January 2025, laying the foundation for the Pepper Kingdom.
Chef Bobby Stabell, M.C.A. When Richard launched the brand, he knew he needed a master to help elevate the vision. Chef Bobby is the culinary alchemist behind our flavor profiles. Holding a Masterโs Degree from the prestigious Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in Austin, Texas, Bobby brings uncompromising standards to the kitchen. Having honed his craft with an internship at Le Jardinier, a recognized Michelin-starred restaurant , he strictly rejects artificial additives.
Bobby joined as a partner to ensure every bottle blends refined, Michelin-inspired flavors with fresh, farm-to-table ingredients. His mission is simple: elevate everyday food into an exceptional culinary experience.
Together, we are committed to small-batch, hand-crafted production. No industrial shortcuts. No xanthan gum. Just vibrant, alive sauces forged in the brutal heat of the homeland.
